Nous sommes arrivés à Tennant Creek hier a 2h du matin pour attendre notre prochaine correspondance pour la cote Est ce soir a 22h.

Mais, après avoir regardé les news a la télé, on a entendu que la route vers l'Est est fermée en raison de fortes pluies. Certaines portions de route sont inondées jusqu'à 2m et les pluies vont s'amplifier davantage au cours de la semaine. Eh oui, c'est la saison des pluies... Il parait qu'il y'a même un cyclone qui devrait toucher la partie nord du Queensland donc pas terrible tout ca.

Donc bien sur on a décidé de ne pas y aller (on est pas fou) et de se rendre directement a Sydney, (en repassant encore une fois par Alice Springs et Adelaide) en bus, soit 4000km de route en 53h non stop.

Pourquoi en bus ? Parce que nous avons acheté nos pass bus avec km illimité donc il faut qu'on les utilise. Et les vols en dernières minutes au départ de petites localités dans l'Outback sont hors de prix.

Beaucoup de changements de programme depuis qu'on est arrivés..

Hi from Tennant Creek !

Let tell you you a funny story.
It is now 44 degrees in this small village (3000 inhabitants) 550km north of Alice Springs and 1000km south of Darwin.
Today we found out that there are some floods in Central and West Queensland and that the highway sare closed (2m of water !!).
The bad news is that some heavy storms and cyclones are forecast for the next few days. Guess what ? No Greyhound services...
It seems like Queensland doesn't really want to welcome us !
So AGAIN, we have to change all our plans after having booked everything !!!!!!!!! All of them...
Tonight we're heading back down to Alice Springs, Adelaide and back up to Sydney = 53 hours in the bus...
Why aren't we flying ? Because we got this 15 day Greyhound pass which we've payed for and that we need to use up and flights from small locations in the bush are far too expensive ($1000 for both of us).
We're feeling much better now we know that we're taking no risks of getting stuck in the middle of nowhere in some ridiculous heat.
Adventure... No always easy, but as usuall, I'm sure we're both a great team and that we'll be all right.
We're arriving in Sydney on the 2nd of Feb and we'll try to get to Brisbane thanks to our Greyhound pass once the weather will get "normal".
Luckily, we're in a funny old backpackers which about to fall into peaces and is owned and managed by an old man in a whellchair... But there is the Internet, TV and 2 people who seem a bit lost like us in the unrealistic location...
